What Would You Trade by Don Taco

What Would You Trade

I always pictured you, withered and grey

on a back porch with a banjo and the wisdom of age

that was a pleasure that we were denied

but we're grateful still for a hell of a ride

what would you trade

what would you give

if time allowed you one more chance

to glide through the crowd

to the edge of the stage

and join in the boneless ones' dance

led us through the storm and rain

moved us with the fire and rod

never been the same again

since you've gone to meet your god

what would you give

what would you trade

is there a price you wouldn't pay

to witness the miracle

just one more time

a love that will not fade away

miss you in the morning dew

can't forget we knew your name

miss you in the days between

love is still there in the dream

what would you trade

what would you give

to show up and be shown the light

on that elegant journey

to space and beyond

just once more on saturday night

missing you like yesterday

missing you like santa claus

missing you like everything

between the tuning and applause

missing you

missing you

we're missing you
